                We are going to tell you about ways to save money around your school or house.  One way is to adjust your thermostat during winter and summer months.  In winter, you should set your thermostat lower and in summer, higher.  You can buy a thermostat that will automatically reset  when nobody is home, because you don't need to keep your home hot if no one is home.  Those are called programmable thermostats. Another way you can save money is by turning off electronics (like a cell phone charger) that don’t need to be on during the day.  These electronics are called vampire loads.  The average household spends $100 per year to power devices while they are in standby mode.

              Vampire loads or Standby loads - are cell phone chargers, camera chargers, battery chargers or power adapters, etc. These are drawing some amount of energy even when not in use
